sleeping porch

This is something unique to life in the tropics. We created this space for when one of our favorite sitters, Annie, came to stay with us for a few months. Prior to that she had been in a large tent outside the pool when she came. This space, however, worked much better. After she left we kept the bed there, and when we occasionally have guests, we let them have this space. Since we rarely get rain or storms, this is almost a permanent guest room. It is protected on two sides with full walls, on on the other two with half walls. So unless we get a HUGE storm, we are in good shape. We got the mosquito net at Pier 1. I love the way it looks. I like to sleep out here as well. Late at night you can even hear the ocean.

This is my little herb garden, also on the sleeping porch. They are used in cooking meals frequently. Annabel likes eating the fennel plain. I like the Italian parsley.
