We drove through a nearby town to some beautiful gardens that have been lovingly maintained since 1692. There were gorgeous boxwood shrubs in various organic shapes, a labyrinth, rows of aromatic lavender and santolina, many paths and ancient rock walls, a "chapelle," a waterfall, views of castles, farms, rivers, and a children's park. I took a peaceful solitary stroll through a forest, one of my most favorite things to do. I came upon a round tiny turreted mossy roofed stone building, the ancient steps and arched doorway beckoning me in, and found a wooden bench, perfect, I imagined, for writing poetry.
