The best way for a mom to teach her kids art is to put on some music, say nothing and just start painting. They will flock to you like you are handing out large candy bars and you will get lost in the afternoon and seven paintings later, everyone will have learned and gained quite a bit. Without talking or discussing much at all.

What a great post; and so true!
And these are the lessons/memories that they will always treasure.
your new art room is getting the best possible use!
I like the painting workshop on the ground, too nice :)
Very true. Our son was always painting when he was small and whenever we gave him a nice canvas to paint on for our wall, he couldn't do it. It has to be a natural flow and no pressure.
What a wonderful space for this and a wonderful way to use it! Great idea--- good memories created!
My daughter does not like paint - but your idea I'll try it soon. Maybe it works.
beautiful lesson :)
Ahh... I can relate to this, of course. Most people think we're constantly pressuring Top3 and Top4 into making stuff, because we too are constantly making stuff.
Not so. Studio and workshop are always open, and the four of us pop in and out all the time. Whenever one of us has an idea, we embark on a mission. Sometimes with a little help, but it's always our own mission.
