Our family life in the tropics. Lots of music, art, gardening, cooking, traveling, ponderings, and joy. Creating memories, traditions
and hopefully some humor. Trying to give back as well.

summer dc trip

\
Staying with old friends in northern Virginia, we got to take the kids to the monuments and the White House at night, we visited Georgetown, went to Old Towne Alexandria, went to the Air and Space Museum, had Ethiopian food, and took our friend Nan's yoga class. I went to spend a couple night's with my college bestie. It was very hot in our nation's capitol, yet at night when the sun went down and the fireflies came out, I was brought back in time to my childhood summer nights, and all was well with the world.

Funny we were just there two weeks ago! While only briefly, the city is still pretty impressive even when you only get to visit for a couple of hours. Our dinner wasn't nearly as impressive as yours. Hot dogs! Not my favorite, but the kids were starving and the idea of waiting for someone to take our order and then bring it out was not going to happen that night. Have a great week!
