Our family life in the tropics. Lots of music, art, gardening, cooking, traveling, ponderings, and joy. Creating memories, traditions
and hopefully some humor. Trying to give back as well.

murano

We took a taxi boat over to Murano, to see a place where the same family has been glassblowing for many generations. They gave a demonstration and our children listened intently. My husband's grandfather was a glassblower. Murano is a charming beautiful town. The boys loved the boat ride.

I'm loving your photos of Venice, We were there last FOUR years ago, a long time really. I still remember my first trip to Venice as a child, the glittering of gold in St Marco, the furnaces and glass blowing in Murano, and beautiful Burano, still mainly a fishing village with a small tradition of needle lacing and NO Haagen-Dazs icecream signs ...
